Alibaug is very manageable with older parents, provided a few things are thought about in advance.
The ferry question
The crossing is short and generally comfortable. Boarding involves steps and some movement, so consider whether that is workable, and give yourself time rather than rushing the boarding.
For anyone with real mobility difficulty, the road route may be the better call despite taking longer.
Timing
Avoid the middle of the day. Heat is harder on older people. Plan for mornings and evenings.
Do not over-schedule. One outing a day, with a proper rest between.
Where you eat
A few things matter more than usual:
Seating. Comfortable chairs, not stools. Somewhere to sit without a long walk from the car.
Shade. Open-air is lovely; open-air with no cover in April is not.
Not rushing. Older guests should not feel hurried. We do not turn tables aggressively.
Food range. Something familiar alongside the coastal menu. Milder options, not everything heavily spiced.
We are two minutes from Mandwa Jetty, which keeps the drive from the boat very short — and open all day, so you can eat at whatever time suits rather than the standard slots.
