On holiday, breakfast is the meal you actually have time for. It sets the pace for everything after.
The early ferry problem
If you took the first boat from Mumbai you have been up since before dawn and probably eaten nothing. Arriving hungry at 9am with nowhere open is a genuinely common Alibaug experience.
We open at 8:30am for this reason. Breakfast runs until noon.
What to order, depending on your morning
You are heading straight to the beach. Something light — the tropical fruit bowl, or avocado toast on sourdough. Enough to go on, not enough to slow you down.
You have nowhere to be. The full breakfast: eggs your way, grilled tomato, mushrooms, toast, hash browns. Order coffee twice.
You want something familiar. Masala omelette with toast. Simple, done properly.
You are with kids. Banana pancakes settle most arguments. There is a kids menu for the rest.
Coffee matters
Holiday coffee is often an afterthought. It should not be — a proper brewed coffee, outdoors, with nothing scheduled, is most of the reason to slow down in the first place.
