Things to Do in Alibaug Beyond the Beach

← Back to the blog

Alibaug is more than a beach town, and the beach is not always the best part of the day.

Kolaba Fort

A sea fort you can walk to at low tide, directly off Alibaug beach. Check tide timings before you set out — people regularly misjudge this and end up wading back.

Kihim and Awas

Quieter beaches than the main Alibaug stretch, with more birdlife. Worth the short drive if the crowds are wearing on you.

Local markets

Small, unglamorous, and genuinely interesting if you like food. Best in the morning.

Just sitting still

The underrated Alibaug activity. This is a place people come to slow down and then fill every hour anyway. Leave a gap.

Where food fits

The practical problem with Alibaug sightseeing is that most restaurants close between lunch and dinner. Come back from a fort at 4pm and your options thin out.

We stay open all day, 8:30am to 11pm, which makes the afternoon gap solvable — and we are two minutes from Mandwa Jetty if you are heading back to the ferry.
